TRIPOLI – During the visit of the Head of the Libyan Representative of the Indonesian Citizen Journalists Association (Persatuan Pewarta Warga Indonesia – PPWI), Mr. Yusuf Al-Razqi, to the Libyan Ministry of Interior, he (Mr. Yusuf Al-Razqi) met the Libyan Minister of Interior, His Excellency Major General Issam Abu Zariba. The visit and friendly meeting between PPWI Libya representatives and the Libyan Minister of Interior Affairs took place on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Libyan Ministry of Interior Affairs Office, in Tripoli.
At this event, the Libyan Minister, Major General Issam Abu Zariba, was awarded of a Certificate of Appreciation from the Consortium of First Union Organizations – Libya and the Indonesian Citizen Journalists Association (PPWI) – Indonesia. Similar awards have also been given to hundreds of figures in the Middle East and North Africa region, such as Lebanese, Omani and Egyptian.
Libya’s Minister of Interior Affairs, H.E. Major General Issam Abu Zariba, expressed his great appreciation and pride in receiving the Award Certificate from the PPWI – First Union consortium. In fact, this Ministry has also issued an official letter, such as a Registered Certificate, regarding PPWI’s presence in Libya some time ago.
It is known that apart of developing its network within the country, PPWI under the leadership of its General Chairperson Wilson Lalengke has also expanded its network to more than 20 countries abroad. This network development is carried out, one of the ways, through building relationships between PPWI and some organizations in foreign countries, such as First Union in Lebanon and Hippo Family Club in Japan. In the near future, PPWI will also build cooperative relations with the MAPIM Organization (Majlis Perundingan Perbangunan Islam Malaysia) in Malaysia.
The main aim of this movement is that this civil society network based on citizen journalism at the international level will become one of the driving forces in fostering humanitarian awareness among world citizens to support each other, give to each other, love each other and empower each other.
